CaptionHub is an innovative SaaS video localisation platform, used by some of the world’s largest brands. We’ve been building CaptionHub since 2015, steadily growing our customer base by around 40% each year. Our platform allows customers to make their video content accessible by subtitling and translating their video content, both for video-on-demand and live streams. CaptionHub has connectors to dozens of video platforms, transcription and translation tools and other AI services.
We’re looking for an experienced developer to join the team, specifically focused on Timbra, our realtime localisation suite. Timbra provides live translated subtitles for live streams and in-room live transcription for conferences. We're also developing live audio translation—turning speech into translated speech rather than text.
There are three important pillars for this role:
Most of the code is written in Ruby and TypeScript, with a Vue.js frontend, and hosted on AWS and GCP. The role also involves aspects that reflect the real-time and live streaming nature of the product. For example:
An interest in localisation technologies would be a bonus, but if you don’t have experience in this, we’ll help you to gain it. The open role is for a senior developer, so we ask for a minimum of five years of professional experience, with more generally being better.
We’re based in the UK, but we’re a fully remote company, with employees in the UK, the Netherlands, Germany and Spain. We’re open to remote applicants living in time zones of GMT±2 to ensure crossover with UK working hours.
